    TBH... Sonic Origins came out in the worst time possible.. The fans made decomps of all the classic games while waiting. And now all classic games are playable with wide screen. Heck we even got remasters like Sonic 1 Forever. And Sonic 2 Absolute. And Sonic AIR and all of them support mods and what not.... So I honestly think Sonic Origins Is basically Useless. Considering the time it came out in. And it doesn't help how its more expensive. The same thing could he said about sega's netflix Sonic Mania Mobile Port. A whole year before that port. The Fans decomped Sonic Mania. Making it available on nearly everything. Even the 3DS. I would simply never understand how sega works on crap.

    This was the first sonic game I ever played and I remember I used to think it was amazing (this game was also what got me interested in the series) Obviously after I played some of the better games like mania, generations, and especially frontiers when it came out, I finally realized that this game is kinda mid, but since it was my first Sonic game, I still kinda like it even tho classic sonic controls like a rock

    1:09:40 WTF?!!! WHAT? WHY??? What twisted bastard working at Sega was like, ya, 100% the game, get a Hint how to beat the final boss that requires you to do something completely random and cryptic in order to beat it . That's the reward? Somebody was laughing when they put that in the game.

    The Supreme End, the mechanic where you LB/RB to sidestep and hit different target was something Knight did too, but it wasn't required at all there. You could side step his shield mid combo to hit his head when he was blocking. So it's not like this is the first time this mechanic appears, some indicators might have helped though... alot. Aside from trying to sever the cord and crush the boss, I assumed you had to get him into a vulnerable state to break the cord because you can't use the right stick to change targets to it, and you can attack if you wail on him enough to get him into a semi vulnerable state. Knowing you can just side step to hit it, made it way easier, also cylooping the part on his back, but not the whole titan, nor it's head, was something stupid and unintuitive as all get out. You're not even trying to cycloop the port his neck to prevent him from relinking up to The End, which would logically be the problem the player is trying to solve. No you have to cyloop the canon on his back for no reason and no hint at that being your goal.

    Knucks had some real control issues, my most recent play through felt alot better than it did when the DLC came out, I don't know if it was me, my settings or if they patched it somehow. It still wasn't perfect by any means and climbing and falling if you hit an edge or some of the more basic things were still harder than they should be. However in terms of actually going around the island with him and gliding after the upgrade to not lose height, it felt pretty good. The one thing that really saves Knuckle's janky climbing or trouble to actually stick to a wall sometimes, is the fact you can use his punches mid air to try to stabilize and regain control, or punch jump punch jump to steadily and jankfully but surely FLY upwards.

    Amy's homing attack is delayed to allow you to multi-target with it, something which actually works pretty well, even though you never actually need it, it's mechanically very sound as it just blasts through multiple walls and stuff instantly or just enemy chains. It works way better than what ever they were trying in Lost World, hers only starts to target if you hold the button down and time slows down if you do in the air, so that you don't screw yourself by trying to do it in the air. Honestly she felt the best of all 3 of the new characters. It's a real shame that there isn't any real content to use her for.

    good to see most of my problems with the update are mostly universal. the ending of the main game left me quite empty. it was a real _nothing burger_ with such a disappointing _battle_. this new boss on the other hand... was _so_ damn janky and unfair, that it also left me quite empty. of course, there was _some_ satisfaction, the music was a banger and the visuals were great but, after being forced to change my difficulty to easy because the parries were so annoyingly impossible and i couldn't even see shit because of the trees, it was almost the same apathetic feeling. as for the world parkours, i was also quite disappointed. honestly, i didn't even do half of them. as this guy says, you level up _so fast_ that by the point you're going to change character, you're already nearly 100% on each stat. and by that point, you only have to make one, and then you have so much speed and vertical movement that you can just fly over to the end of the next challenge, and so on. and that's quite literally how i finished most of the challenges, just flying/gliding over to them. the field bosses were also quiet annoying. being hard and challenging doesn't mean having random _fuck you_ attacks that give you nearly no chance to dodge them, making them basically luck based. that silver hammer? yeah, screw that guy. and the cyloop bicku mention? he's right, i knew f-all that it had so much utility. in my mind, it does no damage and takes too long to charge, so why use it? well, you can see here why use it. i also played _after_ the patch, so i just loaded up amy, knuckles and tails and called it a day. i struggled for an hour trying to kill a silver hammer with sonic only to then realize knuckles pulverizes them out of existence by just looking at them. and for the cyber space levels. they simply sucked. funny enough, i didn't even know you could use spin dash inside the levels. well, guess what? it still sucked ass. the problem that at least _i_ have is that they force you to be slow and methodical about some bullshit parkour, like the highway scenes that like using the flying boxes that are slanted and are shit to step on. you are SONIC. the little blue dude that MOVES at the SPEED OF SOUND? why do i need to slow down to be careful? why do i need to think where to jump and run? funny enough, i can tell you why. _because running sucks mega ass_. the camera has a mind of its own and likes to fuck you over, because fuck you. everything decelerates you, because fuck you. turning around is so hard and impossible, because fuck you. weirdly enough, my problem is not with the boost, which i know that many sonic fans dislike. my problem is that Sega doesn't _fucking make it right for once_. it's always sucked so much. you can't be fast, because lmao parkour, and you can't be slow because lmao timer. you could argue that they're not mandatory, but they're the fun of the game. or should be, because i was dead inside playing these levels. and, also, you can't get 100% if you don't complete them all. overall? 6/10. the game still had its own moments. fighting giants with beautifully harmonizing songs feels great. flying over the island with a soothing (and ever repeating) beat is also kinda relaxing and cool. getting to speak to all the characters, have all these interactions, and even getting to spot some references makes one feel like Sega actually cares, or that it's trying to care (finally). but, unfortunately, so much was done wrong and hastily in this game that it just strips the best out of it. i'd still recommend it, but only if you play it on easy. specially on the Paths update.

    Hi, Sonic Legends lead here! I've been meaning to write this since this video came out, but haven't had the chance to whatsoever. A number of people on the team are big fans of your work, myself included, so words genuinely cannot describe the reaction I had when I saw our game get mentioned on here. Thank you so much for playing! It means a lot to us on the team to hear you talk about it in passing. The project has been in development for a REALLY long time and hearing its praises and accolades has skyrocketed the team's motivation to an almost unhealthy degree! A few things of note since it did seem like it wasn't really made clear, Legends is not a different iteration of the Overture project. Rather it is a celebration of the wider sphere that is the fan gaming community. Since Christmas Island is already an established place within Sonic lore as his birthplace, so some elements from Overture naturally carried over into it so on that metric we did use some beats as a template for the greater story at play here. The central game's scenario is centered around Sonic and Co. getting whisked away into a nexus point of timelines that are bound to those other fan games, making them all seem canon in different timelines. Panic City in this instance has nothing to do with Overture, as it originated from an entirely different fan project of which its only demo came out all the way back in 2006. We have a yet-to-be revealed zone in the early game lineup that should probably have a light bulb pop up over people's heads on what this project is truly about, as there has been a STAGGERING amount of confusion in regards to being a successor or revitalization of Overture when in reality it is everything but. I do understand the confusion to this, however, as the game not only has Sunrise Gate featured as one of several zones from other projects, it also introduces and expands upon story beats from Overture to make the adventure more in line with the pre-established lore from that project. Regarding some of the bugs, a number of the ones mentioned here have been thankfully reported already and we're planning to release a patch to fix some of these issues relatively soon (aiming June to coincide with the initial demo release we had last year). Another thing to note is the Sunrise Gate 1 fight against Drilldozer, which was explicitly mentioned here. We've received a lot of similar reports of the fight being too idle with it taking too long to actually start attacking the player and mostly thanks to this video solidifying how we felt about it internally, the decision was made to start over from scratch to make the boss more active in attacking the player. Hopefully when the next release rolls around that, we can offer a fight that feels more balanced rather than it favouring the player a lot more. If there's something I'm happy to hear it's the analogy made comparing the two projects, our exact intent was never to overshadow or improve upon the original experience, rather to adapt the pre-established material and enhance it in our own way. Let it be known here and now that we are in this for the CREATORS and not for us to one-up them. a HUGE push is made to make the game as accessible as possible for newcomers, most newcomers have only experienced a single game (likely Mania) or are literally playing 2D Sonic for the first time (I've seen reports of this actually being the case) so it does feel natural to make this a modern Classic Sonic experience to make this type of approach work. Since the release of this demo, we made a number of changes to the character controls and moves to air out some frustrations people might have and we also gave Sonic the Super Peel-Out, as that was greatly missed in feedback we have been given. That said, we do have a few plans ahead for people seeking a greater challenge or want a more traditional 2D Sonic experience, so a playthrough without a drop dash and shield abilities will absolutely be available down the road. I do feel like I'm spoiling things already just by saying that.. Once again, HUGE THANKS for playing the demo and shouting us out at the end there! Overture has meant a lot to our entire development team and to be able to adapt and expand upon not only its concepts, but to the wider fan scene has been nothing short of exciting to us! Legends never dies.

    I was suffering too much on the King's Trial, that i thought it would be the same as i couldnt beat Eggmanland in Sonic Unleashed and then the Patch came out, and i had one of the biggest Reliefs of my life.

    i feel like the boss rush is like fighting sans for the first time. a massive difficulty spike that becomes easy when you finally beat it. except you can choose to make the trial easier if you fail several times which you cant do with sans

    Most of these bugs or graphical issues were probably related to hardware. I have no issues with this game and it worked perfectly fine for me. Perhaps the Graphics card, OS, Drivers, or something might have been effecting it (doubt some of those but you never know). Lastly... I like the beta music in sonic 3... so atleast 1 person likes it. Anyways, great video.
